Grand Island Citizen Advocacy is proud to be participating in the seventh annual Go Big GIVE -- a 24-hour, online giving event on Tuesday, July 7th. We will be joining over 130 local nonprofits to raise money together and compete for matching funds and prize money.

Citizen advocacy is a relationship-based form of protection and advocacy of people with disabilities who are at risk of abuse, neglect, or social isolation. Citizen Advocacy offices initiate and support independent, one-to-one matches between ordinary citizens and vulnerable people with intellectual or developmental disabilities in their communities. Citizen Advocates are asked to look out for the rights and interests of the person with a disability as if they were their own.

We are grateful for your support and generosity!

©North Platte Citizen Advocacy, Inc, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The mission of Citizen Advocacy is to promote the protection of and advocacy for people who are devalued, usually due to a mental, physical, and/or developmental disability. Citizen Advocacy programs bring the needs and interests of an individual who is at risk of social isolation to the attention of a citizen who will respond to these needs through a freely given, usually long lasting advocacy relationship. We consult with Disability Rights Nebraska about program development, evaluation, and training for board members and staff.
